Bob Erb, a lottery winner, craved for a burger and some fries, so he went to the Old West Express diner in Saskatchewan, Canada. He ended chatting with the diner’s owner, Clifford Luther, and their chat went on for hours. At some point Luther shared that his daughter, who was living in British Columbia, had recently been diagnosed with cancer. Erb, on the other hand, had been on his way to bury the ashes of his father. It’s not clear whether it was due to their shared sorrow or Erb’s kind nature, but he made a decision that day.
Five days after their encounter, Erb went to visit Luther again. Luther told the media the man requested a pen and wrote him a check for $10,000. Erb then told Luther to take the meal’s bill out of it and took off. The diner’s owner was beyond shocked and couldn’t believe what had just happened. He was stunned at Erb’s generosity and kind heart and started believing that good things really do happen in a person’s life.
